"To persons and companies interested in creative and reliable web site design:

I manage a community development investment office within the City of Madison where we fund a number of non-profit agencies for projects that improve the quality of life within the city: affordable housing, business development, community centers, homeless prevention services and neighborhood redevelopment.

Hardy Garrison has aptly served as the Office Webmaster and data czar for over four years. He designed the CDBG Office web site in ways that help the public, potential applicants and public decision-makers understand the community development program and find the information they need.

Senior management officials at one of our major funding bodies, the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, have reviewed the sites of over 1,000 cities across the nation, and identified the Madison site as one of the several top sites within the country for its ability to display information about the nature of the projects the City funds. HUD has particularly praised the site’s capacity to enable the viewer to sort different activities by one of several characteristics, a feature that customizes the site to viewer interests and increases its functionality.

Hardy has also designed and maintains a second site within the City’s web pages devoted to inter-agency staff work efforts to coordinate services within the City structure itself. This is a complex site involving a publicly accessible face, and a companion set of more confidential pages accessible only to various City staff agencies such as Police, Public Health, Building Inspection and the Mayor’s Office.

Hardy works well on special assignments or consultant activities. He is skilled in web site design and maintenance, and his experience spans both public and private environments.

I would be happy to provide additional information or further recommendations if needed."
